FAQ

What is MediaGuesser?

MediaGuesser is a playful browser game that tests what you know about the world through images, clues, and curiosity. Every picture holds a secret. Your job is to figure out where it was taken.

Is MediaGuesser free?

Yes. MediaGuesser is free to play. Running and improving the game costs money, so we may add optional monetization in the future. The core experience will stay available to everyone.

Who is MediaGuesser for?

Anyone who enjoys geography, photography, culture, or a good challenge, from curious beginners to people who already play location-guessing games. Play solo, with friends, or in a party.

Where did MediaGuesser come from and why was it created?

MediaGuesser started as a hobby project, something our team enjoys playing together. We built it to explore the world through pictures, keep learning, and share that fun with anyone who wants to join.

Which game modes are there?

There are three. In Image Location you guess where a photo was taken, in Treasure Hunt you dig for gold on a map of a real place, and in the Price Guesser you guess the price of real listings. Play each of them solo, compete in PVP, team up in co-op, or jump into group and party games.

Can I play without an account?

Yes. Try a solo round of any game mode with no account. There is also a daily Human vs AI game: you play five rounds, each model guesses each photo, and a running score tracks humans against models.

Can I challenge someone to the same game?

Yes. After you finish a game, choose Challenge Someone. Everyone plays the same images alone, and only once. Share a public link, so anyone can play without an account, or keep it to invited friends. When they finish, you can compare scores.

What are collections and can I share content?

As you play, you can discover images, save them, and build collections. Create collections around a theme or a place and share them with friends.

Where do the images come from and can I use them?

The photographs come from openly licensed and publicly available media. Each image is credited with its origin when we have that information. Whether you can reuse an image depends on its own license. We do not grant extra rights beyond what the original license allows.

How do I report a copyright concern or file a DMCA request?
