Study a real photograph, read the clues hidden in it, and drop a pin where you think it was taken. The closer your pin, the more points you score.
Every round shows a real photograph from somewhere on the planet. Signs, plants, architecture, cars, and even the light can give the place away.
Place your guess on the world map. Zoom in as far as you like, the closer your pin, the better.
See where the photo was really taken, how far off you were, and what makes the place special. Five photos make a game.

Read a treasure map of a real place and dig where you think the gold is buried. Every dig and every hint costs gold, so choose wisely.
See a real item that is for sale online and guess what it costs, in your own country and currency. The closer your guess, the more points you score.
You see a real photograph and place a pin on the world map where you think it was taken. Once you lock in your guess, the real location is revealed and you score points based on how close you were.
The photos are taken by people, not by a camera car driving down the road. They show events, landmarks, quiet corners, and small details: signs, text, food, festivals, and everyday culture. Many tell a story or capture a beautiful place, and older photos add a twist, because a place may look very different today.
GeoGuessr drops you into Street View, where you can move around and look in every direction. Here you get one photo and that is all you see, which usually makes it harder. In exchange, the photos reach places Street View never drove through: remote villages, islands, mountain tops, and countries with little or no Street View coverage, such as China or North Korea.
Not really, and that is on purpose. Every photo is different, so rounds are harder to compare than on a road network. The game is more about discovering the world and its stories than about racing the clock. You can still compare scores with friends, play PvP, or challenge someone to the exact same photos.
Real photographs from all over the world: busy streets and quiet villages, famous landmarks and hidden corners, markets, festivals, mountains, coasts, and deserts. Some are brand new, others decades old. Every photo comes with its story, so after each round you learn what you were looking at.
Yes. Open a party and invite your friends with a link or a code. Guess together in co-op, compete in PvP, or split into groups for a bigger party. You can also send a challenge, so everyone plays the exact same photos on their own and you compare the scores afterwards.
Every photo is a small mystery. Spotting the one sign, plant, or roof that gives a place away feels great, and being a few kilometers off feels even better. With friends it turns into a lively debate about where on Earth you are, and you learn something about the world with every round.
Your points depend on the distance between your pin and the real location. A pin right on the spot earns the most, and the further away you are, the fewer points you get.
